anything cool with a laptop?
anything cool with a laptop? is there anything that i can do with my new laptob (i got it for high school graduation) that involves my car s computer? i know about stuff like autotap and ls1edit, but i m thinkin just something cheap and cool , mostly just a fun factor type thing, maybe a read-out of stuff or something like that. thanks guys -matt

Re: anything cool with a laptop? I am on the Sony 2.4 P4, love the computer, got it for a hell of a price, 1299. Cleburne, Texas oh my, didn't know there were an LS1's out there. I have to drive through there to go to my grandmothers house. I mostly only see pick-em-up trucks.

Well getting an interface to communicate with the car is not going to be cheap ether way "autotap or ls1edit" you’re looking at close to $300 for autotap and $500 for ls1edit. You don’t want to get ls1edit; it will only change the pcm’s parameters. I don’t even think autotap would be right for you ether. EFIlive might be what you’re looking for; you can still find out problems and codes with it but also use it to tune the car with something like ls1edit or a maf translator. EFIlive uses autotap’s interface cable so later on you could get autotap for getting more detailed into finding and solving problems. These things are tools not for showing off so please get them for the right reasons
