Default Different pontiac HU for my T/A

I want to keep a stock look to my TA so i was interested in finding another pontiac hu from a newer model that would cooperate with my monsoon system. Anyone try this?

any head unit will adapt with the correct GM harness; if you are looking to just install the HU and do nothing else to the car audiowise I wouldn't worry too much. I am not a huge fan of the monsoon system; i've heard countless stories of people blowing door mids (mainly the right passager side) and that is not something that points to a bad speaker; bad crossoverpoints on the system as a whole itself and incorrect tunning in a TA with that EQ makes it so much easier to blow. However;

-- what is your budget? any future plans of modifications in the car? subwoofer? speakers? ect? What features would you like? Feature's will heavily depend on your budget..

Im pretty satisfied with how my monsoon sounds, does distort some but i never listen to it to loud. Budget is limited to just replacing my hu, not looking to replace the speakers or amp. Im more interested in spending the bulk of my money on performance parts.

There isn't much that will fit or work. The last Pontiac model to use the 1.5 DIN size was the 03 Sunfire. The newer double DIN models generally won't work even if you modify your dash to make them fit because they've gone to different electronics (internally keyed to VIN, OnStar, warning chimes, alarm settings, even courtesy lights on some models). To my knowledge, there are no harness adapters that will make those work.
