Replacing stock speakers
Replacing stock speakers I'm replacing my stock front speakers (blown) for Poineer 2-way 6.5" speakers. Problem is the stock 2-ways have two connectors and the Poineer ones only have one. If I combine the two wires I get a crackling sound, if I hook up just one wire I get just the high or low. What can I use to combine the two wires so that the new speakers work properly? I thought about connecting the low end to the conector and sodder (sp?) the high end directly to were the high connects on the speaker.

I gave up on them, and found some stock ones. One problem like you said is that its a dual speaker and you can't combine the two, it just doesn't work (well for me). And the other problem is that the stock speakers are 2om and those Pioneer's are 4om, that doesn't work and thats why you get that "popping" sound from the amps when you turn on/off your car.
Here is why I gave up and found some stock ones. If was going to replace the door speakers with something other than stock and nothing will work unless I go ahead and replace the head unit, but I have steering wheel controls and most stereos don't work with the Monsoons steering wheel controls, and I have the Monsoon 12-disc changer in the trunk and from what I have found no stereo works with that. So I would have to change everything if I wanted other than stock door speakers.

Re: Replacing stock speakers Bypass the factory Monsoon amps and run a better head unit or an aftermarket amp DIRECTLY TO your new speakers. It will sound better.
