Default Swap out Cassette Player??

My friend just bought a '98 TA with a cassette player and EQ. Just curious if you will be able to swap this for another stock radio w/ a CD player? Will it work or is there any type of theft thing that will prevent this from working?

Are there any aftermarket CD players that will work with the steering wheel radio controls?

Thanks,

Well you should be able to use a stock radio but it has to be from a 97 or later fbody. And it has to match systems. Meaning if you friends car has monsoon he needs a monsoon cd player, or if its standard audio he needs a standard audio cd player. If he changes to another radio he can still retain his steering wheel controls using a kit made by PAC called a SWIX kit. It will work with any brand radio that has a remote.
