Amp Help I have an amp with an 1800 watt peak hooked up to one twelve. Its brand new. It played about one song then the protection light came on. I did all the obvious. I checked the fuses i checked the ground. I even re-grinded the ground to make sure there was a good connection. Does anyone know what is going on?
What amp? What sub?
Check all the connections going to the sub because it sounds like they could be touching and that shorts the amp or causes the protection light to come on.
Maybe you blew your sub, that would do it because the VC gets fucked up.

The protection light on the amp wouldnt be because you blew the sub, it would be because you blew the amp
Thats a lot of watts to a sub, unless you have something nice...
and im taking a wild guess its some ebay stuff....
Even the 600$ JL 13w7 takes like 2000watts
Most subs max at 1000w
So you either blew the amp, maybe it couldnt handle the Ohms, bad ground, bad power, touching wires somewhere....Power/ground/remote wires all good
