Try cleaning the pellet on your key with a rag and a little WD40. That's worked for me in the past.

after searching ive found its either the tumbler or the key, any way to figure out which one it deffinantly is? arent getting keys from the dealership really expensive? im sure the tumbler isnt cheap either?

ive had the viper alarm for years and the light just came on a few days ago so id like to think it has nothing to do with my alarm.
