Instrument Cluster not lighting up?
On my brothers 98' T/A, his instrument cluster lights went out and we can't figure out for the life of us what is at fault. I've checked all fuses and just did a brief look under the dash for anything out of the ordinary. But I just do not have much experience with the electronics around an instrument cluster so just curious if this has ever happened to anyone here and/or if you can steer me in the right direction.
Here is what's working and what's not:
- Warning lights(SES Light, Low Coolant, Check Gauges, Etc) all work
- Odometer Box Lights Up when headlights are off, but turns off when you kick on the headlights
- Instrument Cluster(Speedo, Tach, Fuel, Oil Pressure, Etc) do not light up when headlights are kicked on.
- And not sure if these light up, but the background for the Climate Control ***** do not light up either when the headlights are on.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Graycen
It is possible that other (more expensive) things could cause those symptoms. It could be the headlight switch, the dimmer switch, or the DRL module but the fuse is the most likely culprit.
