Help with Xenon HID headlamp A buddy of mine has an '03 Civic LX with Xenon headlamps. His driver side lamp runs for about 30 mins. before it fades out. It is run off an indepent amp, and we don't know what could be causing it! Any help please!!! Its driving us crazy
Try switching the bulbs from one side to the other. This will let you know if its the ballast. If that's not it then the factory wiring may not be providing enough power to the lights. You may want to have your friend look into getting a relay harness to power the ballasts off the battery.
I had a Murano come in at work last summer with a very simular issue. Like the other guys have said, switch the ballasts side to side and see if it switches. The Murano actually needed a new headlamp assembly. Something internally would quite grounding for some reason. Im not sure how the Civics are but they are probably not a projector style so your housing shouldn't be an issue like the Murano.
