Dual Ip-Bus inputs?
Hey guys -
I've got a P7700MP and I am trying to hook up my XM and an Ipod to the unit..
Both setups use the same input ip-bus jack.. So in order to hook both units to the headunit, I am going to have to hack into the ip-bus cord and wire in a seperate ip-bus cord for one of the items.. Essentially making my own Y-ipbus cord..
Well, I was sorting out the issue in the car a bit ago and noticed when I select the "aux" channel, XM plays through both it and the "xm" selection - which is pretty much to be expected..
So, if I simply wire in the new ipbus cord for the ipod, i'm going to hear ipod and xm through the aux channel.. Right?
Now - what I am thinking is, I could easily wire in an on/off switch to both the XM power wire and the Ipod power wire and just flip one of them off when I want to hear the other one..
Pretty simple and should work fine, I just thought I'd see if anyone had handled this another way before I started hackin' into my wires..
Thanks guys..
Jeff
