Factory Amp question.
Factory Amp question. Well when I bought my car I knew the whole stereo sounded like udder ****.
So one day I had a blow out, and I go to get the spare out...and what do you know...the factory amp is MISSING and all the wires have been CUT
. So I have a big mess of wires where the amp should be.
Now I bought an Amp from a member here a week ago..but it does NOT fit in my Trans Am. I think the Amp came from a Camaro.
Is the plastic mount different from a Camaro and a Trans Am? I know the amps are all the same.
PS..If you have a spare plug for the amp and wanna part with it LMK please. I need one

No, the amps are NOT all the same! Both are eight channel amps but Camaros amps power the door mids and tweeters, the SVC 2-ohm subs in the sail panels, and full-range speakers in the hatch area. Firebird amps power the mids in the doors, the DVC 4-ohm subs in the sail panels, and the mids in the hatch area (the tweeters are powered by the head unit).
The channels are used differently, have different impedence specs, and different signal filtering. Camaros have two channels for each door (mid and tweeter), one 2-ohm channel for each sail panel and one channel for the hatch areas. Firebirds have one channel for each door, two 4-ohm channels for each sub, and a mid-range channel for the hatch area.
