08 Z06 install
I have to say that I don't like the flash factor in this vehicle but if your going to win shows that is what it takes these days. This is a matter of personal preferance and not a knock at the work that went into that car. My personal preference is to have a more understated design. I tend to shy away from neon in the boxes and all that stuff. I have done that before at the request of the client but isn't something I would have in my car.
Here's one that I saw at last years gathering in an F-body that I really liked alot. It is very understated but very functional and the workmanship is very nice. This is more my style and I think what Dragonrage is also refering to. I think the type of style the Vette has does appeal to more of the younger generation than guys my age.

I think it's very impressive. It seems like all you guys are jealous you couldn't do something like that for your car, so all you can figure out how to do is to make fun of it. I think it's super classy. Notice how he keeps everything under the carpet so it looks stock? And when he wants to show off the carpet comes off. Everything comes together very nicely.
That's a lot of time and hard work and the most some of you guys can say is
"thats gay". The rabid amount of asshats on this forum never cease to amaze me.

Oh yeah, for what its worth, that carbon fiber is a factory option, he didn't add that. Chevy has that as an option for Corvette's. Stupid GM don't they know carbon fiber is for ricers not sports cars.

Also Kee, that car is amazing too, but on the driver side behind teh sub, is that exposed MDF?

I'm a fan of any install that can be entirely hidden if desired. That, to me, is what makes this install so nice and acceptable, even though it may be over the top and more "showy". The customer can still maintain a stock appearance if desired and can still have a functional storage area when needed. The overall theme also isn't too bad -- using the Corvette logo, and his idea of an "engine, with two banks of 'cylinder heads' flanking three downdraft carb with intakes" helps keep it together I think as well.
