Amp help

Installed new amp and everything was working fine until a few days ago and it just stopped. I checked the power line fuse and the fuses in the Amp and all were ok. No wires came unplugged. The power will kick on for a second and then back off. I have it grounded behind the carpet attached to the hatch release.

I do have a volt meter but don't know how to read it. If anyone has any suggestions it would be helpful but please speak in lamen terms as I am not a techy.

First thing I would do it take the volt meter to the remote wire and see if it's still giving power when the amp is off.

id unhook ur speakers or subs from amp and see if amp stays on something could be shorted

change the location of you re ground. if you put you re ground onto the piece that the release is mounted too chances are that it is not enough to support the demands of you re amplifier. I am pretty sure that it is only tac'd to the rear. try going to the actual floor.
