Default need help installing deck

first question is i have two wires that i dont know what to do with, one;s yellow and in the manual for the deck its for a live terminal in the fuse box connecting to the battery(bypassing the ignition switch), then the other wire is red and the manual says it goes to the accessory terminal in the fuse box anybody know what to connect these wires to.

also i connected the ground cables coming from the power cable to the black cable coming from the car. but there is also a place on the back of the deck for a ground, a little tab, what am i supposed to do with that ??

first time installing my own system so hopefully there not stupid questions

truthfully, I always just buy the harness now. Used to get them at Crutchfield and Al & Eds, but I've seen them now at Autozone for like $5.99. They plug right unto your factory plugs and are clearly marked (and usually matching color codes to the decks wires).

They are everywhere. Go to Pepboys or even Walmart has harness adapters. Your looking for a GM harness adapter. This allows you to wire the new harness from your new radio into it and then it just plugs into the stock harness. You can splice into your stock harness but for $5.00-$6.00 dollars for a harness adapter you be silly to cut into a stock harness. You'll also need an antenna adapter. I have them on my website as well under "installation products". They have most of these things at Walmart, Pepboys, and several other places that carry car audio.

You really should have used a wiring harness adapter but since you didn't...

The red wire from your new head unit connects to the yellow wire in the car stereo harness (this provides ignition controlled power)

The yellow wire from your HU connects to the orange wire in the car harness (this provides constant battery power for the memory).
