Default new setup question

i just ordered the alpine mrp f300 amp
and i was orginally going to go with alpine sps17c2 but the guy at crutchfield said in the backseats the tweeter would stick out so he suggested Blaupunkt gtx662

but what he also said is that speakers in the rear dont give out much bass and may not be happy with their performance
is this true does anyone else have a setup witih subs and are you happy with the performance?

The rear seat speakers are actually better for mids speakers. If you want speakers back there that really hit , they would be too deep to fit; they'd really stick out (you could not put the speaker grills back on). For the best sub setup, you really want to make use of the hatch/trunk area.

back seats should be subwoofers (or at least woofers). No midwoofers or mids or full-rangers there. Better to go with a stealthbox though. Even a < $20 Goldwood sub will do better than most pairs of 6-7" subs.

Why not a midwoofer? The range on a 6.5" sub in that location is about 39-1500hz for the Bazooka and the eD is about the same. A CL-6 midwoofer hits as low as 50hz-5000hz. While it does have range that would be unneccesary for a subwoofer application up top, it still hits low enough to produce decent bass....at least for a sail panel. The difference between 40hz and 50hz is not a huge difference in the grand scheme of things. Power handling is also good. In the sail panel location hooked up to the stock Monsoon amp a midwoofer would work fine...at least in a Camaro since it is SVC.
That being said if your going for deep bass like what you'd get from a traditional sub, enclosure and amp combo...I don't care what you put in a sail panel it isn't going to hit like that type of setup. Subwoofer or midwoofer.

I hope you don't care about bass much, because that system won't have any unless you do a stealthbox sub.
