Power lock problem Something weird has started to happen intermittently when I press the "LOCK" button on my 2002 Camaro SS's ket fob:
The factory anti-theft system is armed, but the driver's side door does not lock. (If I open the door, the alarm then goes off immediately, of course.)
This problem seem to happen randomly, and I can only re-create it sometimes (by alot of repetition). Is there a door lock solenoid that is starting to go bad or something? Anyone have any ideas? THANKS!

Does it go back and forth
Do you hear any action when ya hit the button or switch
Then we can tell ya if it's the noid
If it's the noid not too difficult to replcae
the linkage or plastic that holds the linkage may be broken or ...
Simply get it all lined up and lubricated the plastic part can jam
if you do it repeatly then it get hot and will always fail

Yep, I was right. When the lock fails to work, there is no sound at all from it.
By the way, I also got it to fail a few times just using the power lock switch inside the car... so it has nothing to do with the key FOB.
So does this mean the solenoid is bad? And if so, does anyone know how I go about replacing it?
