Replaceing whole sound system
what has really worked for me is Front components in the doors, Rear Coaxials in the Side panels. And a sub in the rear in a box. You have quite a few options On speakers, head units and amps.
I personally Like the Alpine PDX 5.
Its a 5 channel amp that Does wonders. and there small, and very effective and efficent.
You will need an Amp kit, Along with rca Cables. I would run a True 4ga amp kit the first time, It makes upgrades down the road easier.
There are several other good 5-channels as well. The cool thing about a 5-channel is that it's 2 amps in one (4-channel for frotn and rear speakers plus an additional sub amp). The drawback is that the sub channels on most 5-channel amps is around 250-500watts RMS. For an F-body this is fine if your running a single 10", 12" sub (steathbox) or a pair of subs (in that power range) as most 5-channel amps are 2ohm stable in most cases but if your looking for huge bass output then a traditional class-D monoblock and seperate 4-channel would be your best bet. Really it depends on what your trying to do.
