Adding Sub & Amp
Adding Sub & Amp Hi,
I'm just about to buy a Alpine M500 amp, and a type R 10" sub for a stealth box enclosure.
I read the stickies, but most of it sounds foreign to me!!
Do I need anything else to make these work? (line level adaptor etc??).
I have a stock system with Kappas up front and no cd changer in the trunk.

Not to hijack, but i just got my mrpm500, mrpf300, and alpine type r in today. Gotta install still, but i didnt get my car back from the performance shop till like 2 hrs ago[been there 3 weeks getting ac redone and cam plus hurricane down time, lol], so i got everything to me today.
I just installed an Alpine Type R 10" in a stealth box with a 480W Kicker Amp and it sounds great!!! Definitely invest in a new head unit, im using an Alpine CDA-9884, then you have easy access to a subwoofer level control, better EQ settings, a high pass filter, etc. The high pass filter is great because if I allow the monsoon amp to send very low frequencies (below 80Hz) to my speakers I get a little rattling around the speaker area, setting to HPF to 80Hz really improved sound quality with the subwoofer handling those frequencies very easily. I just installed everything 2 days ago so I am still trying to figure out what settings sound the best.
