Subwoofer/Amp Combo
Subwoofer/Amp Combo Hey guys, i am in the process of organizing a subwoofer and amplifier combo.
The Subs that i have are MTX 7500 4 ohms

I have two 12" Subs, and I am going to buy a custom made box to fit the back where the t-tops go.
I really don't know anything about ohms, or amplifiers... I know that it's DUAL 4 ohms, so i need to take that into consideration when buying an Amp.
The RMS power is 400W and peak power handling is 800 W.
I'm willing to spend quite a bit for a good amplifier and professional installation(although my friend has previous experience and he is an electrical engineer), with a nice name brand, AKA Alpine, Kenwood... etc."
There are Mono Amps, 2 channels and 4 channel amps as far as i know. What is the difference in these amps?
All i'm really looking for is deep bass when i want to play rap.
Anyways all comments and information is welcome, i appreciate all input.

Mono amp will play just one signal (combined Left and Right)
2 channel will play Left and Right independently
4 channel will play Left, Right Front and Rear.
I have a PPI Powerclass 4 channel amp, 2 front channels, powering the two front speakers, and briged on the rear channel running one sub.
hopefully that makes sense, it does in my head, but I noticed you are in Denton, also, if you wanna see how its setup let me know.

a mono amp is the best to have for subs they are usualy class d very efficient if the subs are dual 4ohm coils i would run the coils in series causing each speaker to be a 8ohm load thus the load on the amp would be 4 ohms if you get a high dollar 1 ohm stable amp you could run in parallel which would give you a lot of power from the amp
