car audio idiot: need some advice
Let me describe what I want ... I want more bass, seperate from the highs so I know I'll need one or two subwoofers. I want to play MP3's from my computer laptop and know this will require an auxilary input on the head unit. And I want to do it all for $1,000 or less. From there I get lost.
I am almost sold on doing the following, a Rockford Fosgate punch 2-channel amp driving two Punch subwoofers, Kenwood head unit and maintaining the stock speakers. This will run around $800 or so. For about $600 extra I can add another RF 2-channel amp, RF front speakers w/ tweeter and new 6x10's in the rear.
What do you guys think? Or maybe someone that has been through this can give me an ideal set-up for the money I am talking about.
Thanks, Steve

Up to this point you should be at $600 shipping included.
$100 for Amp installation kit, head unit instalation kit, antenna adapter, and RCA's. You can get this from IkeSound too.
$100 for a sealed for 2 10's specially for fbodys with no less than .8cf/ chamber. You can find locally.
At this point you are at $800 and you will able to play MP3's and have more bass in your TA than you expected. You can install it yourself and pocket the other $200 or if you don't fell confident about doing it yourself, you can pay someone and it should not be more than $150 to set it up for you for a grand total of $950.
Hope this helps....
