Description:
Included are pictures of our '53 Studebaker custom. In late 2005 I started an engine conversion from the Chevy 350/T350 that was in the car to an LS1/4L60E from a 2000 Trans Am. The car was on the road and running in April 2006. In the time since then I have put almost 9k miles on it. The car has a whole new personality, runs like a scalded dog and is a joy to drive. I included a drive by wire throttle from a Corvette, cruise control, and AC. It even gets 25-26 mpg on the highway. For a little extra performance, I installed an LS6 intake and PCV system along with LS6 valve springs. Modified headers are from Sanderson with full duals going through Flowmasters. It has a 2800 Stall Yank Stealth converter and sends power to a Ford 8 inch with 3.80-1 gears and trac lock. Tires are 235R70-15 Yokohamas with wide whites from Diamondback tires. I have had the car to the strip at Sacramento Raceway where it ran a best of 13.68 @102 with a 2.15 60'. That's just as you see it in the picture. Traction is a real limitation and I am working on that. You can see a journal of my build here: http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/journal.php?action=view&journalid=33611&page=1&reverse=1
