Straight from Pratt and Miller

Have you got a hankering for speed? Are you a die-hard Chevy fan? Do you have a little over a quarter million burning a hole in your pocket? If you answered yes to any of those questions, then you're in luck since the good folks at Pratt & Miller are offering up 2018 Camaro GT4.R race cars for purchase. Unfortunately, the car is only for track racing, but hey, you'd still have bragging rights.

What's under the skin

The Camaro GT4.R wears a modified ZL1 suit for the best aero and lightest body. Underneath the hood is a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 that can also be found in the Camaro SS. That powerplant produces 450 horsepower but tuning will produce 480 horsepower. The GT4.R benefits from dry-sump oil lubrication, a carbon-fiber intake, custom crankshaft, Motec data acquisition system, and a customized Bosch Motorsport MS6 ECU. For shifting, there's a six-speed sequential transmission, sending power to a Xtrac Salisbury-type differential.

Looks pretty spartan in there

Since the GT4.R has to comply with GT4 race regulations, there is an internal safety cage, metrics on those aero pieces, and fit within the requirements of engine performance. The exterior of the car is a blend of the ZL1 body and hood air extractor vent with carbon fiber doors and front bumper. On the front of the car, you'll also find a ZL1-esque front splitter and dive planes that are custom made pieces for GT4 regulations. Oh, and also there's a giant wing out back that is adjustable, too.

What does $259,000 get you?

For the brakes, the Brembos are okay in the rear, but the fronts have been shown the door. Those brakes, even though they are more than capable, for racing grade six-piston calipers. Ohlins 2-way adjustable front struts and rear shocks make up the suspension setup. There are also front and rear swaybars that are adjustable. The car uses the factory 305 series tire size in the front and in the rear the rear move from 325-305 series as well.

The GT4.R is eligible for IMSA's Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge and has competed in the Pirelli World Challenge but if you're looking for something to enjoy on the street then stick with the ZL1.
