Slowest Camaros In History From 0 to 60

We automatically associate the Camaro nameplate with quickness. But these Camaro models can be beaten in a straight line by a Prius! (We still love them, though!)

5. 1977 Camaro Z/28 - 0 to 60 in 8.6 Seconds

The 1977 Camaro Z/28 came from the factory with a 5.7-liter small block V8 that produced an advertised 185 horsepower. While that number is easily topped by today's economy sedans, it was the standard back in the '70s following the Clean Air Act. And the majority of the cars on this list are here because of the application of those strict government emissions regulations. Still, cars like the '77 Camaro Z/28 remain a popular choice for some great restoration projects, due to their simple engineering and readily available parts.

4. 1994 Camaro V6 - 0 to 60 in 8.9 Seconds

While the V8-powered iterations of the famous "catfish" Camaro possess some healthy power, the V6 variant was certainly lacking in the grunt department. The 3.4-liter was capable of an almost embarrassing 160 horsepower from the factory, which resulted in a 0 to 60 acceleration time of 8.9 seconds. There's an argument against any non-V8 muscle car in history, but the case is perhaps strongest with this '94 Camaro.

3. 1982 Camaro Z/28 - 0-60 in 9.7 Seconds

With a revamped look that has since become synonymous with the era, the 1982 Camaro Z/28 had an ever weaker engine under its hood than the previously-mentioned 1977 variant. This Camaro came with a 5.0-liter V8 that put down a mere 165 horsepower, which propelled it to 60 mph from a standstill in 9.7 seconds. The redeeming quality of the Chevy in comparison to the Mustang of the same era was a better handling car.

2. 1985 Camaro Berlinetta - 0 to 60 in 10.0 Seconds

It wasn't just the slimmer look of the Berlinetta variant of the 1985 Camaro that took away from its muscle car character. The presence of a 2.8-liter V6 capable of just 135 horses at the crank definitely had a hand in that feat. All in all, this was a major flop in the history of the Camaro nameplate.

1. 1975 Camaro - 0 to 60 in 10.9 Seconds

And that brings us to the slowest car to ever wear the Camaro badge in history. And we can say that confidently because we're pretty sure cars aren't getting any slower anytime soon! With the Clean Air Act taking full effect in 1975, the year's 3.8-liter straight-6-cylinder Camaro offering from GM was one to remember, for the wrong reasons. The 105-horsepower Camaro achieves a 0 to 60 time of close to 11 seconds!

Still, you can't look at that car and not think of how awesome it would look parked in your driveway... That's certainly true for this writer!
