Corvette C7 Z06 vs. Porsche 918

By -

Here are the headline figures: The C7 generation Corvette Z06 is a $100,000 American sports car featuring a 6.2L supercharged LT4 small block Chevy V8 making 650 horsepower and 650 ft./lb. of torque and it weighs about 3,500 pounds, you probably knew this.

For comparison, the Porsche 918 Spyder is an $850,000 European sports car, with all-wheel drive, and a hybrid-assisted naturally-aspirated screamer 4.6L V8 engine. The net result of this is a 3,600 pound car, with 887 horsepower and 944 ft./lb. of torque.

At a private drag strip event, both cars match up for a drag race down the 1320. It should be noted that this particular 918 had been clicking off consistent 10.1 second passes all day. This was never going to end well for the Z06.

Since that time, he has established connections with most of the world's major automakers, as well as other key brands in the automotive industry.

He enjoys track days, drifting, and autocross, at least, when his cars are running right, which is uncommon.
