Fairmont LS Sleeper is Terrifyingly Fast
We like sleepers here at LS1tech. We like sleepers just as much as we like fully blown turbo ludicrous Camaros.
Yet, there’s just something about a sleeper that’s way cooler than your average hot-rod. This next car though, it takes being a sleeper to a whole other level.
What you see before you is a 1981 Ford Fairmont wagon. It’s brown, from the 80s, and looks like your grandmother would drive to and from church in it.
In other words, it looks like a stock 1981 Ford Fairmont. Yet, peak under the hood, and there’s a monster inside that engine bay. An LS1 monster to be exact, which just so happens to also be helped along with a 150 shot of nitrous.
According to the owner, key4, he recently ran this sleeper wagon for the first time with the nitrous setup and it proved to be quite a quick competitor when it clocked the 1/8 mile in just 6 seconds. In addition to the nitrous, it has a LS1 with a 223/227 cam, ported, and a 4.10 gear.
Suffice it to say, it’s ridiculously fast, and I’d hate to be the guy pulling up to the lights and thinking I could smoke this little grandmother mobile.
