Hot Rod Drag Week: Jeff Lutz Shaking Down “Evil Twin”
This year’s Hot Rod Drag Week in Tulsa, Oklahoma is shaping up to be one of the best and biggest. However, those drag cars are going to have to take out Jeff Lutz and “The Evil Twins”.
That’s right, Lutz didn’t just build and bring one twin turbo big block ’57 Chevy. He’s got two at Hot Rod Drag Week 2014.
The Evil Twins use a pair of 91 mm Precision Turbos on a 632-cubic inch aluminum version of a big block Chevy. That turbocharged air feeds into a Hogan fabricated intake that is fed by both gasoline on the street and methanol for drag racing.
The transmission is a Rossler built Turbo 400 with a Gear Vendors Under/Overdrive. One of the twins was weighed in at 2493-lbs and north of 2000-horsepower and he’s looking for 6.00-seconds at Drag Week.
