Sixth Gen Camaro Out Here Crushing 5-Oh Mustangs Left and Right

By -

To the surprise of few, the LT1-powered gen six Camaro is a beast,  and even stock ones tend to be putting the hurt on the competition, stock or modified. Perennial Chevy boys and hardcore street racers, the folks over at Bad Bow Tie Productions have started a mini-series entitled “Coyote Hunting” and here comes Part One. First one the chopping block is a new 2016 Mustang, with full exhaust and an E85 tune with a 6-speed manual against the Bad Bow Tie 6th gen Camaro with the 8-speed automatic.

As much as we love rowing our own, when it comes to drag racing, automatics win races. The GM 8L90E automatic transmission is programmed to shift faster than even the best manual transmission driver and will ten times out of ten, knock out those shifts more consistently, and never miss a gear.

The video is good, but the 20+ page thread on LS1Tech is where the magic is happening. Mustang apologists appear and then things get really good. The 5-Oh is a solid engine, it loves to rev, and generally responds well to mods, but in this case, there is no replacement for displacement, especially against the new LT1 motor. Stay tuned for future installments of Coyote Hunting, where small block Chevy-powered cars continue to prove their dominance.
