pre-race prediction, first of the year!!
tonight I'm taking the camaro out racing for the first time this year. what do you guys predict the et, 60ft and trap speed could be?
Track- great lakes dragaway by kenosha Wisconsin
car 2001 z28 M6, full bolt-on and cam (231/237 589/595 112)
Dynojet with air filter installed 418rwph 397rwtq
without air filter installed 432rwhp 404rwtq
I will be racing without the air filter installed..
other variables.
tires - 315 nitto dr
rear shocks - comp engineering drag shocks
bmr LCA
stock Torque arm and sway
slp subframe connectors
pro 5.0 shifter with short stick
centerforce dual friction clutch
stock 10 bolt and 3.42
Minor weight reduction, pulled the rear seat and spare tire/jack
Because of the stock 10bolt and not wanting to nuke it, I might just launch from idle and maybe as high as 2,200 but nothing more.
so what do you guys think I will run?
I believe I should break 11s but just not sure how deep into 11s.

i hope i am wrong but your 60' is gonna be 2.1 because of the 3.42 gears & your afraid to launch over 2200 rpms .you need 4.10 gears bad so you stay in the higher rpms. dont be afraid to go down to 13# of air in the rear nittos thats when i had my best results & ran a 1.88 60' 12.5 @ 114 with 340 rwhp , all of my other 60' were in the 2.1 range on nitto dr.
2.1 60' 12.1 @ 117 but what do i know good luck & have fun

i was running 2.2 60ft times on 275 street tires. I thought the 315 nitto dr would improve that alot.
when I buy a 12bolt I will go with the 4.10. which is later this summer, which is why I am holding off on nuking the 10bolt (plus there is 70k on the 10bolt)

they should help some but they are not a cure all! 60' is 60' you gotta beat on your car some to improve on that time
there are alot of variables, the track, motor temp, your tires, your driving, air temps & humidity & more. go out there & surprise us all & bring that 11sec time slip home there should be some nice cool air coming in tonight,58ish so get in some late runs !!!!

i agree with that...
I just need a 12 bolt...
we will see how the tires stick and how track prep is.. maybe a couple of late runs will be high clutch dumps

12 bolt
4.10 or 4.30
28"
limiter launch
it will straight get down...until then you are limited and with have to be easy to keep the car together to drive it home
or you could slap an auto and 4400 stall in it

last night the racing was great, sadly I got there late (8:45) and could only make 2 passes.
The car was on but the driver mod sucked
1st pass
RT - .5xx
60' - 2.2 (Bogged the engine, almost killed it at launch.)
1/8 - 89mph
trap speed - 112mph
1/4 time - 12.9
2nd pass
RT - .6xx
60' - 1.9
1/8 - 86mph
trap speed 115 (missed 3rd gear)
1/4 time - 12.5
both launches where at idle (i wanted to make a couple passes then do a couple at 3K). My RT is usually around .2xx (last night was just bad). Even though I shifted accurately when the shift light flashed, my shifts where slow (didnt power shift) and I missed 3rd. The car definitely has more in it, I just need more track time year. I wanted more passes and drive the car harder but I also wanted to drive home.
Its definitely time to buy the 12 bolt 4.10 and quit worrying about the stock high mileage 10bolt..
next week I'll run on a test and tune night and see definitely get the 1/4 time and mph up where it should be.

were you in reverse?
there is no substitution for track time!
you had fun, made it home & learned a whole bunch!

LOL.... so true.
I look at it this way, I drove the car fast but not to its full potential. yet I was still able to drive the car home after the night was over. factory 10bolt intact!!
hopefully this week or next week, i will go again, my close friend LMDz28 can go, then I can give the car hell and if it breaks down we can roll it onto the trailer.
next time I will stay in the gas and powershift and try some high rpm clutch dumps...
I know the car has more in it....... faster time and higher mph
