Default What 60' will I need to hit 11s.

Car has a stock converter now and has gone...

12.24 @ 119.93 - 2.08 60' on the 150 shot
12.48 @ 116.32 - 2.07 60' on the 100 shot

Will be throwing a PI Vig 3600 in it soon. Trying to get an estimate of what the car needs to 60' to get into the 11s. How much MPH should I expect to lose. I will still be running the 3.42 gear.

I have seen people squeaking into the 11.9x range with 1.6 short times, and around 113-115mph. Just wanted to get some opinions.

Thanks!

Its awesome to see LT1s trapping that high. Ive heard that .1 off your 60' lowers your et by .2 sec on average. If you hit a 1.6 60' 11s are easy.

Thats not necesarily true...atleast not in my case......But Beau dont worry about it man....the stall change alone will get u into the 11's easy on the 150's and prolly 11.90's-12.0's on the 100's.

If you get the car to hook with the new stall you should be able to hit at least an 11.8.

With that much mph I would think you'd only have to run a 1.9 60 ft to break into the 11's.

119.93 is a cakewalk for 11's. Go borrow some damn slicks already and run some 11.2's

Oh its got plenty of tire, lol. That pass was made on a 275/50/15 M/T ET Street Radial. Car sits on 26x11.5x15 Hoosier QTP DOTs now. It has always been on a drag radial or street slick, just launches like a damned power wheel....thats low on battery, ha!

video for reference, this was me spraying the car with window switch set to activate at 3200 rpm....

You can see my car spit out black smoke and haze the tires a bit then squat, **** and get, right about the point when my car is blocked by the truck. It's funny that car launched harder 100' out, than it does from the line, lol.

my best is and 11.71 with a 1.9 60ft. You should be well into the 11's with a couple tenths off that 60ft.

2.08 60ft? damn that thing took off like a turtle with two broken legs

You're spraying the car on a drag radial, bias ply tire and that's as fast as it will go?

I think something else is wrong in the car, you sure the tran/converter isn't f'd up?

It should be leaving a lot harder, how long till you get the new converter? Are you on the stock converter now? It might be "pushing through the converter", I.E. like a clutch slipping in an auto. with that much MPH you should be running 1.5 60ft's all day.

Nothing wrong with the car, other than it having a 130K mile stock motor, stock verter and stock suspension. I have the window switch set to 3200, and with me launching at 1200, it just leaves like a turd. Car rarely spins the tires unless the track isn't prepped. Trans is in good working order. New verter should be after the 1st of the yr.

You should be getting higher than 1200 rpm to stall it up on the foot brake. Even a stock converter should stall close to 2000 rpm. Higher you can leave at and quicker you can get on the n20 the faster it's going to 60 ft.

Even foot braking my car went .3 faster leaving on the n20 right off the bat vs. waiting to get out 15-20 feet.

I have tried to spray the car out of the gate b4, and it doesn't go so well, lol. Backfire FTL!

Who knows, maybe when I had the rebuild done a long time ago on the tranny, I got shafted on the converter and got something that wasn't supposed to be in there.

F It. New one should be in soon.
