GTO Engine Oil Dipstick Plug for Block- LS1 LS2
Does anyone know what part the GTO engines use to block off the oil dipstick hole in the LS1 or LS2 block ? I'm using a GTO pan on my conversion and need to plug the standard dipstick hole in the LS1 (Camaro) block.
Or can someone with a GTO engine Email me a pic of that area? What's plugging the hole?
Thanks
Andrew

Its' not that simple
This is an aluminum block that expands differently than a cast iron block that uses freeze plugs. So the rules of freeze plugs and holes sizes may not apply here. That's probably why the LS aluminum blocks don't use freeze plugs, but screw in plugs instead.
So does anyone know what the GM part number for that plug is??

One of the issues I ran in to swapping the GTO pan to the CTS-V pan was the GTO pan has the dip stick hole integrated into the pan. What I found was that there is a plug that you just need to tap out in the LS2 block with a punch to use the CTS-V oil dip stick..
Also found a thread with a closer image.. Cheers!

It will fit all car and truck motors. The plug is not specific to GTO engines, it's a plug that fits the standard dipstick hole on all engines. It's only GTO-related because the GTOs are the only engine (that I know of) that plugs the dipstick hole in the block and instead uses a hole built into the GTO oil pan.
