problem with procharger pulley
I have a p1sc and it dynoed at 470 with the six rib setup and a 3.6 pulley. I wanted more boost so I bought a mms crank pulley and a 3.2 supercharger pulley. I lost 150 rwhp on the dyno, tuner says belt is slipping. I pulled procharger and come to find out the belt is slipping. Not only is the belt slipping the supercharger pulley is slipping, the keyway is missing so the two keys don't line up, no wonder its slipping. Should I call ati or thinking about a trip to the machine shop to have one made, what should I do. Also does anyone have a pic of the keyway pin. When I swapped pullies I don't remember seeing a pin but I paid an muffler shop to swap pulley, did they *** it up?

I can post up a pic when I get home, on my procharger the shaft that the pulley is pressed on has a small square indention running the length of the shaft, my procharger pulley also have this square keyway for locking purposes I guess. Looks like a lt1 crank pulley(keyway). I will get pic posted tonite or can someone post a pic of their procharger pulley (close up aka pov lol) I need to see the actual keyway or face of the pulley(part that the bolt screws into)

the pulley on the blower shaft should be very snug but not where it needs to be pressed on, there should be a 1/4"wide 3/4"long square key in the two cuts that are on the pulley/ blower shaft
a machine shop will def. have it and maybe even some where like ace hardware
I would say the muffler shop f.... up and forgot to reinstall the key

Sounds good, I have three pullies, 3.0 3.2 and 3.6 should I try the 3.0 pulley again. It went to 7 psi but would slip after that. Now I found my problem do you think I should try again or swap back to 3.6 pulley? On a p1sc what's smallest pulley that can be run until belt slip becomes an issue, I have 6 rib with mms oversize crank pulley

go to lowes in the nuts and bolts isle and get a 1/4 x 1/4 x 3/4 in' key. You don't need a machinist to make a special key or anything. That is standard hardware.
align the groves back up and slap that key in.

Hopefully the muffler shop didn't cause the shaft to get too torn up. How much boost are you shooting for? Years ago we installed an MMS crank pulley on my Z28 (125,000 miles, stock with headers and exhaust at 900 ft elevation) with it's D-1SC and a 4.0 blower pulley, and got 15 psi of boost. Same set-up with a P-1SC would of probably resulted in 12 psi or so of boost. Bob

Crank is pinned, boost gauge is acting weird but tuner moved me to speed density so I'm guessing close to 15 psi. With the 3.2 pulley idk if it was slipping due to belt or missing pin? 3.6 spun fine. Tryin to max out my setup, on my way to ace hardware now, thanks

Yeah definately get the pin back in there, other than the bolt the pin is what keeps the blower pulley from spinning on the blower shaft. I got a 3.2" 6-rib blower pulley to work with that MMS crank pulley, with the belt super-tight it made about 9psi on my setup.

Thanks, everything works great except now I need another tune. Picked up everything at ace hardware and loctite the bolt down. I'm thinking the shop somehow forgot the pin, I just drove her and she's boosting really hard(I can hear it loud) but my tune is limited to 315 rwhp, back to the dyno on monday, thanks again. I put the 3.6 pulley, now my greed is sinking in, should I put the 3.2 again now I have my keyway pin problem solved.

I put the 3.6 pulley on and lost boost. Also its breaking up in the upper rpms so i swapped out plugs for some tr6's. I want to swap the 3.2 pully back in also. I'll be back at the dyno tommorow, btw 321rwhp, 415rwtq 2-3 psi 11.8 afr

Things just aren't making since to me here. With a D-1SC 6 rib on my '99 Z28 with headers and exhaust and 110,000 miles, I was seeing 7 psi with a 4.0 pulley on the blower. We swapped out the stock 6.0 crank pulley to an MMS overdrive pulley, and the car jumped to 15 psi with the same 4.0 pulley on the blower. Now I am at 900 ft in elevation and I had a D-1SC, typically a P-1SC will make approx 3-4 psi less with the same pulley as a D-1SC.
Does the blower impeller look to be damaged? Bob
