Yea, I was told trickflow h/c package is pretty damn good. Originally, I was planning to go this route awhile back. But recently, I ditched that idea and end up getting a LS3 427. I should be getting it soon. Can't wait.

If a number is all you are chasing, it should be a fairly simple goal to get 460ish out of a decent head and a mild cam. 6 speeds are dyno queens anyway. On the flipside, I would pay $3,300 if I was guaranteed 515rwhp out of a 346 H/C/I setup. However, I would check with some sponsors on this board concerning my goals and power levels I wanted to achieve first. You can't call summit and expect the skirt on the other end of the phone to tell you why a TFS head performs the way it does.

The 515hp number is a FLYWHEEL hp number. It is advertised with unmilled heads at 10.5-10.6-1 and used an LS-6 intake for that test. I have a dyno sheet of the same package with a fast 90 that made 540fwhp and 475tq. I tried to post it but it is too big and won't upload. I have personally witnessed this kit make 467 rwhp in an M6 f-body.

I don't see you getting that from your ls1 my friend. However, you should get in the 460 range. My ls1 w/afr 205 s made 463hp 414tq with a non ported fast stock size mass air w/a 12 bolt 4.11 gears on a mustang dyno. I ran 11.1 n/a in a 3,600lbs car. The package offered is the way to go. good luck to you.

U get those heads for around the same price from vengance? Im liken the 220s cause of the price, just makin sure the gains will be at 30+, anything over that and im happy!

i was just looking at that head and cam package from summit. i am not the smartest with specific numbers via heads and cam and such, but a guy i work with is pretty damn smart, only problem is hes a ford guy, lol.anyway he did some home work for me and said that combo is pretty good for what im looking for. my other question is, my TA has 90,000 miles. would i need to rebuild anything on the bottom end to run this set up? would i need forged crank or pistons or anything? what about if i were going to go forced induction down the road?
BTW heres the link to the TF heads

GM50CAL-DON'T LET A FORD GUY RESEARCH YOUR CAR. You heve a lot of people here and shops to talk to. Vengeance, speed inc and thunder racing are the ones i buy from. You do not need to rebuild the motor but the cam offered MUST be able to clear stock pistons. You do not NEED a forged crank. Forced induction.....the more you throw at that 90k mi stock motor the more chance you have to blow it up. I would worry about a better block before you look into spending the cash on forced induction. A good forged(piston/crank) 383CI can be had for around $3,500 ish and a trickflow head will go nice on top of it. call vengeance racing and talk to ron with your goals and budjet.....and let the ford guys do ford cars.lol good luck to ya.

my car will never see the track, its a hwy king only. so the cam and heads need to be roll race hammer drop style cam/head set up... thats why the tfs set up caught my attn... peak gains need to be usable on a full weight street car.. right..
