Not high hp here, but I can say that they are hands down better than any other drag radial out there.
I don't think you will be dissapointed in the switch.
Every other tire I've ran nitto, mt, etc. the air pressure had to be played with each track outing, launch rpm, launch boost etc.
With the hoosiers I just drive into the pits make sure the chip on the two step is set at 4200, air them down to 23 psi and they hook every single time.
You will probably use less air psi then I do since I use a 50 profile and don't need the low low air psi to get the tire to wrinkle like the taller tires do.

Hoosiers are really good, but like stated before, they dont last long
They like more air than the mickeys on 275/60/15 we run 19-20lbs
As far as the 315s....you dont really see a lot of people running them. Francis Johnson has been 1.10 60' on them, but he is really the only guy I know of that has a really good track record with them.
I think that the hoosiers would be better on a marginal track, but on a super good track you could 60' better on the mickeys.
We have been 1.15 60' on the mickeys, and so far with hoosiers(17psi tire pressure) 1.18, but more testing is needed
The 315 hoosiers are a little more narrow than the 315 mickeys.

They hook better consistently, and really don't require near as much attention as the mickey's as far as changing launch strategies. I would not buy a set to run on the street, at all. I would rather go through the hassle of changing them out for my street wheels and tires for one days use and then have to turn right back around the next day and put the drag wheels/tires on than to waste the soft *** rubber on the highway or road.

I'd rate my favorite tires
#1 Hoosier drag radials
#2 M&H Drag Radials.
I run the 275/60/15's on my car. Those Hoosiers when they are fresh brand new I can make about 10-15 30 punches on the street and it will put down 950-1000 on the street. They start going away after that but with that 275 drag radial you can still put some decent power down when they start going away. Basically brand new they are a killer tire
The M&H 325/45/17 drag radial works really good especially for fitting on a 17x9 speedline they aren't very noticeable

I don't think you can go wrong with a 315/60 Hoosier, hell just seeing the kind of numbers the X275 guys put down day in and day out on the 275's should tell you what they are capable of.
If your not a member on yellowbullet sign up and look around there. You will find much more experience with ODR set-ups there and what people are using and liking the best.

I've seen that at the ORTC events I've been too, all the ODR turbo cars are on M/T's, I don't pay too much attention to the nitrous ODR cars.
But in X275 the Hoosiers play king.
I was just saying if the 275's are that good, then why aren't or can't the 315's be that good too?
Is there something about the wider tire that isn't as good as the 275?

the car i help with is a 632 bbf twin 91s 3300lbs..4.49 1/8th We have used the mickeys and have been 115 on those and were trying the hoosiers 315s. Like stated before 118 60 is the best we have gone on the hoosiers so far, but we dont have but a handfull of passes on them.
Our thought was like yours....the 275/60/15 hoosiers are better than the mickeys..why not the 315s. The 315 hoosiers are more narrow and we went to double beadlocks when we put the hoosiers on. We put a different trans in the car at the same time so its hard to get a comparison.
None of the ODR turbo cars run the hoosiers, but they are going to tracks like MIR and Valdosta which are the best working tracks in the country. I dont know how Indy is going to be....I would say it wont be as good as the ODR tracks simply because the NMCA cars on slicks dont want a super tight track.
really the only conclusion I can come up with right now is that If i were to race tonight on a track that isnt very good, I would want the hoosiers

Isn't part of the 275 Hoosier success due to being a bigger tire than a 275 MT? Didn't that cause some controversy when they were first released...bigger than "spec"????
A very scientific fingernail test I did showed the Hoosier tread is a lot softer than my MT 325 tread....felt closer to a MT drag tread.
