LT1 clutch master cylinder

LT1 clutch master cylinder
I didnt want to post this in the trans section because the LT1 and LS1 clutches are so different, but:
I need a new clutch master cylinder. Autozone sells a Duralast stock replacement for $69, and Texas Speed sells the adjustabe Tick master for $369.
Is it worth it to spend the extra $300 for the Tick? Im not going to spend that much, Im going to get a stock replacement, but who here uses the Tick?
For those who are still reading, my problem is that when I hold the clutch down it loses pressure and after about 2-3 seconds the car starts to roll forward as if Im letting out the clutch, eventually completely releasing. I already replaced the slave, so the master is the only other option. Ive been driving like this for 3 years now...its a real ******* challenge at the track, I have to wait until I see the 1st amber, toss in the clutch, put it in 1st, bring up the revs, and dump it all by the last amber. Dont have that time if Im doing a pro tree at the shootout...
Also, I have heard that doing a master on the LS1 is a total ******* pain int he ***, even worse than headers, is it so bad on the LT?

I have used the OE style from the ws6store for many years . Forget replacing part of the set up all or none is the right way here plus bleeding the stock set up sucks and takes forever....

i have a TICK PERFORMANCE set up and will never go back to the stock style even for a daily driver! Spend the coin upfront........

It does not fatigue like the stock unit, it is adjustable. When and if you get one you will see the difference! Besides the OE replacement is just that......The Tick unit is designed for performance it does not matter if you race your car or just drive it everyday this is an upgrade worth having!

If you are running a stock style clutch then you can get away with a GM unit, but if you start running different style clutches or have to get an aftermarket bellhousing you can run into issues with engagement, then it would make sense to go with the adjustable Tick unit. BTW Tilton makes some damn good stuff, their severe duty starters are top notch.

I know it's been said before, but look around for a McLeod. I found one used for around $150 a few years back and they are incredible pieces. Even if you find one used they are completely rebuildable with a kit from McLeod with all of the replacement seals, good investment and the adjustability is very nice.

I bought a tick master and I love it! You can definately feel a difference on the engaugement. My centerforce was having problems with the stock master but with the adjustable one from tick it solved my problem.
And yes, the ls1 and lt1 masters are different. I believe the main part of the unit is the same from tick performance but the lines are different.

Our kit is capable of flowing more fluid than any other master on the market, making it more adjustable than any other master cylinder. We also warranty it against leaks and/or failure for life. It's more expensive than any OE type cylinder, sure, but it's also a much, much higher quality product.
