How far will a 7675 go on a 6.0?
I have a late model stock LQ4 that I'd like to run to the edge and am thinking the CEA 7675 I have might not get me into the 800+ range through a 4l80. Just curious how much further I would get with this turbo setup on a 5.3 instead. I really don't want to change to another turbo since it's packaged tight and I don't want to cut everything apart. If I went with the 5.3, it would be an L33 so I would get the added bonus of 80lbs off the nose.
Also, any input on what the out of boost torque difference will be between a 6.0 and a 5.3? I know LS1NOVA made the switch, perhaps he would be willing to chime in? I am using a stock converter, so it will likely be more noticeable than most setups. This is a 90% street, 5% drag race and 5% auto-X deal. Running E85.

Try it first.
My S475 would make over 20 psi but car didn't pick up any in the 1/8 past 17 psi. I did find the turbine all chewed up from pieces from my flex joint that blew apart prior to track outting. I have since repaired turbo and it is on truck pulling hard to 18 psi.

I would also like to know! My setup will be done soon and I am a stock bottom LS2 with 317 heads, a 228/228 .588/.588 114 turbo cam, and the PT7675 CEA, on e85. I also have a 6 speed. I am hoping for 800whp... no idea what my torque will be lol
But it should be done in December so we will see!

It looks like you've got a bigger exhaust housing on your Turbonetics. I'm concerned the .96 I have will hit a wall sooner than I'm hoping for. They do great in the mid-boost range.
I want to make sure my #3500 setup can run mid-140 mph at the track.
Thanks everyone for the input so far.

I ment the lq4 and 76/75. The cam might get some reversion but I would

pt7875 gts
I got a ws6 lq9 402 hci rear mount pt7875 .96 ar. On 14 psi made 700whp 723wtq max power at 5300rpm max torque 4700rpm only revving to 6100rpm cuz backpreasure becomes an issue from what I see after 14psi with a 7675 or 7875 on a 402,408. I was down to 630ish whp at 6500 rpm and at 6100rpm where I shift I'm still around 670whp so your rpm work range is lower rpm which for a dd 700whp ws6 is amazing. Tons of torque very quick but still I plan to switch to bw s475 with 96mn turbine 88mm exit on turbine with 1.32 t6 with a quick spool valve. Full boost comes around 3500rpm with my setup now with pt7875 gts. n should be 3000rpm or less with the bw and qsv

The turbo would definitely be more efficient on the 5.3 but will work nicely on the 6.0. I have a similar setup, LQ4, TU1, 7875, 4L80e, E85. I ran 9.9 @ 140 with a 3400-3500 race weight on 14 psi. Trapped 142 on 16 psi and when tried to go to 18-19 psi the charge pipe blew off. I imagine it would have gone 144-145 on that pass. Dyno shows power dropping off around 5700 rpm, but screams all the way there. I think a cam change would help it pull harder up top.
The turbo doesn't really like being pushed that hard on the LQ4 though. I don't think 800 rwhp will be possible with it through a 4L80e. On 16 psi I made 677 rwhp. The Precision units do seem to make more power than the new Turbonetics units however.
I am making the switch to a S480 and have a feeling I will be kicking myself later. My current setup is a blast to drive on the street. I guess we will see what happens in the spring.

I'm pushing about 15psi and made 735whp and 920wtq on a mustang dyno unlocked converter. I ran out of injector or we would have pushed it harder. Forged ls1, tu1 cam, 317 heads, 9.5:1 cr, e85, proYank converter, 4l80e, pt7675. I only ran it on spring pressure(10psi) and went 10.4@135mph. Car was breaking up on higher boost passes so had to switch out plugs. All is right as rain so hoping to get some 9's next time out.
FWIW i'm happy with this turbo and will push it to the max once I up my fueling this winter.

Closest comparison I can make is my 5.7L with a 76GTS which is similar although the 7675 with a billet wheel will have a bit of an advantage but the turbine is still the choke point. My combo is done at 800 rwhp through a TH400 and more cubes will knock that down just a bit. I would run the 6.0L vs the 5.3L hands down given your 90% street with a stock converter application.

I'm making 700wrhp through a 5.3 th400 7675 and its having backpressure issues, I'm going to try swapping out cam as I believe for my combo it's not right, but 7675 on a 6.0 I think would be too small and you would have even more backpressure issues.
I am also at a much higher elevation of 5600+ feet above sea level so that could be it also.

The responses seem mixed. If I come across a good deal on an L33 I'll go that route, otherwise I'll just use the LQ4 I've got.
