Whats the popular opinion for putting these on after market wire boots? I re-used mine when I installed my G2 wires but my dad just got some MSD wires that have raised letters on the boot that will create a "fit" problem with the metal shield.

I didn't reinstall them with my Taylors and I have had no problems. I'm running Mac's.

You can get some better quality and better fitment ones from advance. They are made out of fire retardent material and withstand up to 600* I think. Thats what I used, they were 15 bucks for a pair

mine went on as well with MSD wires...might have been a bit more of a pain to get them on the plug all the way but car is running fine and I dont have to worry about melting a spark plug wire.

Our advanced only has these tubes to go over, somewhat like a headerwrap material. I also have headerwrap on the header where wire is against it, it still melts!

I use them on unwrapped headers and my plugs are fine. I have to use them on two of my plug wires

I dont use any on my msd's and they are fine after about 10k miles. Although, i recently installed headers and one of my wires rests on the egr hookup/tube that is blocked off. Does that part of the header get as hot as the actuall tubes?

I would think that the hookup tube would be just as hot as the rest of the header. I have the msd wires with pacesetter headers, i have had no issues in the 8k miles they have been installed for.

No plug heat shield covers on mine. Easier to maintain w/o them IMO.

My first set of MSD's I cooked 2 wires sittin on the header. didnt realise they could be bent away from the header. Now I just bent em away and no probs.
