Default Header Installation Questions

How hard is it to install headers on my 2001 WS6? And whats the difference between long tube headers and shorty length? Thanks

not very hard at all, just do a search-there are numerous install guides. difficulty truly depends on the brand of headers though. Stay away from the shorties.

i currently have pacesetter. It really depends on your budget though. what are you willing to spend on your setup? Kooks/Qtp and other such stainless headers are going to be the best, but very pricey as well. I would recommend pacesetter all day based on the fact that they install very easily and seem to be pretty damn good quality also while still only costing $300-$400...

Get longtubes. Shorty headers are good if you live in California, or anywhere else with very strict smog rules, but other than that they aren't good. The longtubes will see more hp/tq and they give the car a cool look.

Pacesetters are extremely cheap, but if you want to step it up a notch, go with QTP. QTP are stainless steel as Pacesetters are coated/chrome.

The install isn't bad especially if you can get access to a lift. I went on base in San Diego and rented a lift and did it completely on my own in about 4 1/2 hours. This was my second time doing LT headers (first being in my garage on a '94 Z28). The pace are great for the money since you get the same performance as the pricey stainless ones. As mentioned if you have to pass a sniffer then get midlengths with cats. Actually I think you can get LT's with cats but I'm not 100% sure.
