Installing larger injectors, need a base tune?
So, after reading, it looks like everyone agrees that before you start your car with bigger injectors, you need to have a base tune put in for those injectors.
I will be putting in 42# injectors on my H/C/I LS1 build, but I have to drive 120miles to my tuner. I guess I should keep the stockers in, make the trip, then swap out the injectors once I get there. Is this the way everyone else that has to travel to your tuner does it?
Thanks, James.

Do not even try to drive with a 42lb swap without changing the IFR table to relect the new injectors. It will dump tons of fuel in and will foul plugs in a matter on a minute or two. Swap them when you get to your tuner.

If you change them in the garage you will have to tune the IFR table before you start the car or else is will cause major flooding of the engine and will foul the plugs. The injector swap and tune must be done together.
BTW an injector swap takes about 30 minutes to do and is very easy.
