I got to thinking.....i figured i would post a little more eye of a few things i have made.
Restrictor cone i make for cars running restricto class.
E46 roof
Bmw airbox . I made all of it except for the trumpet area. There is even a filter channel inside i made.

One of the more neat projects i did was a guy brought me a carbon pin on hood but he wanted it on hinges........sssssoooo

Very nice work Hio. I am going to start working with fiberglass since I would like to make some parts for my Camaro. I just finished my first year of working on an IMSA team and all the aero work inspired me to shore up some of the many deficiencies on our cars. Are you still working in racing?

Thanks guys....i wish i had pics of all my stuff but alot of it happened before pic phones/storage got good. I've made m I re complicated stuff like entry and exit ducts for the radiator to.
No i don't work in racing anymore. I work out if a shop at my house. Once in a while i get some race cars here to work on.p

Thanks guys.
The 2 shells are held together with 3 layers of carbon. Another way i could do it is leave a small flange around the shells from molding them and just use a good epoxy.
Air filtration is a oe sized filter. Could be done a couple different ways.
1- just make a simple frame to hold the filter to the cai.
2- a box holding the filter and mounted to the car and fed through the bumber. That's the route I'm goin to hopefully achieved some ram air effect.
2.a - the box could be fed several ways via hoses off fog light holes or whatever else one could figure out.

Ive recently just finished the book Race car aerodynamics by Katts, (Very good read by the way) and based on the information Ive gathered from there, the subject of the rear deck and spoiler design on our 4th gens looks to have been designed more in an effort to reduce overall drag *hence the way the trunk lid rounds off with a similar degree angle of the rear glass* with a minor effort to alleviate lift with the flat wing that is level with the trunk lid. Now I have an aftermarket lip spoiler which helps to further reduce lift but also comes at a small increase in drag, but if we were to fill in that dropping area below the spoiler the possible outcome should show a moderate increase in negative lift, possibly even positive down-force (depending on if there are any front mods for down-force acting to shift center force further to the front) with an equal increase in drag due to the now larger separation bubble at the back now that there is not a small amount of air flow going under the wing to help move some of the high pressure air around the rear bumper. From what Ive researched the best possible outcome to decrease lift and also try to decrease our drag would be to invest in a properly designed flat floor with channels starting just before or right at the rear axles with a degree slope of around 6-10, this will move the air under the car faster causing a lower pressure area which of course reduces lift and also accelerates the air coming out of the back of the car with a diffuser ( also note the air would be coming up closer to the taillights due to the high rake of the diffuser which reduces the size of the flow separation bubble) and in doing so this reduction in the separation bubble reduces overall drag, the flat bottom and diffuser reduces lift. Also the aspect of using the exhaust within the venturi tunnels can accelerate this effect under throttle for more down-force and slightly smaller separation bubble at the back, possibly even routing the exhaust to exit between the taillights theoretically could nearly completely dissipate the rear separation bubble increasing negative lift and lowering your drag even further. depending on how aggressive your down-force setup is (in most cases as down-force increases so does drag) your Cd could be as low as .31-.33 with lift numbers near 0.1...of course this is all speculation and lower drag coefficients could be had with the sacrifice of negative lift.

DIY aero testing how to:
Cut an entire ball of yarn into 8" sections.
Secure those sections of yarn all over the body, especially areas you are modifying.
Have a friend with camera (two friends really, one to drive and one to film) follow you down the road at various mph.
Watch the yarn to see which way air is moving.
