i read somewhere Nextel Cup motors have Nikasil bores,anybody know this for a fact?

NO , they use a cast iron block, unless they put aluminum sleeves in some, that would be unusual to say the least! Im from the school of, letum use LS series engines and fuel injection, be more efficent on fuel. RON

Default bore material CHROME

I have built some CHROME bore sleeved engines, very good results, low friction, very tough bores,stand a lot of heat, very thin wall thickness, good bore formation , low distortion, down side special piston rings, and must have coated skirt pistons. anybody wanna try it , there are a lot of ideas that are over 75yrs.-------- short story!! my dad who is long long dead, said to me about 1952, if you want to make a lot of HP you got to figure out a way to pressurize the intake manifold, it took me 50 yrs. to say he was right. boy have computors changed available knowledge.
