Default How do I smoke tails?

Hey all. I know there are certain ways to get smoked tail lights, but I want to do it without putting any tint/paint or crap like that on my tail lights.

Is the only other choice to get some sort of smoked cover? Is it illegal?

I'm really interested in doing it because my entire car has a blacked out theme now with the black chrome/carbon fiber/tint on the MBM color, yet the only thing left is the stock tail lights and it looks funny.

See there it looks bad ***, the theme is completed.

Then there are the stock tail lights... I think if hey were smoked out it would look like sex...

So what are my options? And what are legal?

Thanks!

I figured this is the only way to get it done.

Ok I'll look into it, as I don't want any more illegal crap on my car, so I was wondering if this is legal? I'm assuming it changes state by state, but I don't know.

BTW, for those of who you have done this, what was the going price to get it done professionally?

said it before but i love the smurf blue.
what i'm going to end up doing is buying another set of stockers to get them tinted and that way i can swap them out when ever i feel like. and if i like it just sell the old ones.

so out of all the methods of tinting you take out the two best ways of doing it and want the worst of the three, covers? Covers dont fit will, they usually poke out. I used tint from ebay and love it. Loved it so much that i was forced to make my friends get it haha and they all loved the outcome.

No man, I was just explaining how I am a total n00b to smoking out tails, thus I have no idea how it is done.

So either tinting or painting? Which one lasts longer and is more permanent? I hate getting stuff done that only lasts a year or two, I like to do it one time really well and that's it. Which one would be the best choice? Paint I'm assuming...

BTW you're tails look sick, it is exactly the shade I want.

Here is 2 LIGHT coats of VHT Nightshade,(spray on) order online. First time I went darker, almost all the way black, this looks MUCH better. Remember you can always go darker, not lighter.
Looks a little bit lighter than it really is because of the lighting in the picture.

Excuse the dirt!!!!!
