What to use to polish up exhaust tips???

Default What to use to polish up exhaust tips???

My stock CME tips are looking really nasty, so i was wondering. What can i use to polish them back up and have them looking good again???

are they polished or chrome already? i use mothers mag and aluminum polish on my slp tips.

mothers is good stuff for polishing.

they look to be polished tips. they just look so damn dirty, it ruins the look in the rear of the car.

I've seen detailers wet sand them and then use polish to get out the scratches and shine them up. Might wanna use something to clean up the crap first, then polish them up however you want.

yeah if they are REALLY dirty LIGHTLY wet sand them with like 2000 grit, then polish them up with a microfiber cloth and some of that mothers. use the compound polish not the liquid.

exactly what i do, or sometimes just use very fine 00 steel wool and then polish them. Works great

For really bad tips, I normally hit them with all-purpose cleaner 2:1 and let them dwell for a couple of minutes before scrubing with a brush. Then I take #0000 steel wool and some metal polish followed by a microfiber towel and metal polish (usually Mothers paste). That won't necessarily be a show-winning polish, but it makes a drastic improvement.

if ur not sure if they are polished or chromed, if you go to polish them and you dont get the black residue than they are chrome!
