i am getting a new hatch for my 96 trans am soon. how hard is it to swap the hatch and how do you do it?

not hard at all pull the headliner take the disconnect the harness and gound take the trim of the hatch un bolt it transfer harness to the new hatch and reverse the procedure

It's very awkward to hold, so two people are a must. I swapped my 94 TA's molded spoiler to an LS1 high rise. I had to swap the latch part because it was offset, and I used the LS1 plastics. Everything else was fine.

I know this is an old thread but I am having a little trouble and would like some help. Ok, I swapped my hatch and everything was fine except I had to switch the latch as well because of the offset. I have a 93 formula and got the high rise off of a 2000 ws6. I had it swapped for a while now and realized that my dome light only works when I open the hatch now. When I unlock and lock the doors with my remote or open the doors the rear light doesn't come on. I checked the latches and my original has 3 pins on the connector and the one I had to swap with has 2 pins. So if i want my light to work properly again i have to find a way to switch the latch back. I wanted to know if anyone else had this issue and fixed it.
