i had a nice coating of rustproofing, err 5w30 oil under my car from my leaking intake manifold gasket and oil pan gasket. every LT1 has that protection at one point in its life

i replaced all that stuff last summer and cleaned up the oil. my underbody is spotless although i'm guessing that has more to do with it being a southern car and having never been driven through a single winter than it does the 5w30 rustproofing.

i have to say that a leaking pinion seal is worse. gear oil is a sob to clean, id rather clean oil off the undercarriage.
