just pop the clear lens off with a small screwdriver--you'll see the slits when you look at it. Other than that, just slip your finger behind the bulb & try to get it out.
Using pliers may cause the bulb to shatter, I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than a last-resort method.

try not to pull at an angle. seems like the mounts are easily detached so they move around.

The bulbs for the Rear View Mirrors are different from 00-02 right?

What bulbs do the 99 and under guys like me use? Isnt it a Feston bulb or w/e? Wasnt sure if the bulb numbers listed at the start of this thread were for that or for the newer mirrors.

Which LED bulb are you guys using for the side markers? I know the stock size is 194...but there seems to be a LOT of options from Superbrightleds for that size...

I opted not to use a single bulb for the plate because I could never get the right illumination I wanted. Instead I picked up an LED strip off of ebay and replaced the stock light entirely. Ill get a pic tonight when its dark out.

Thumbs up 99+ under mirror bulb to leds

For us 99 and under guys I would say yes Festoon style LED, for my vert it took four, the two for the rear were plug and play and the two for the mirror took a lil work, in that you need to take the metal end caps off the old bulbs (they slide off w/pliers) and put them on the festoon led, problem is, the body of the led festoon seems to be a lil longer than the stock bulb which gives you less metal wire on the ends, but with patience you can retrofit the caps to make the festoon leds plug and play for your mirros, and the result are great and no more heat too!

Exclamation Directional and high beams leds not brite enough in daylight?

For my custom (6le) gauge overlays, I was told to get WLED-xHP6 in green for the turn signals and a blue one for the high beam, all from super brite leds. These are not front firing leds, so these side firing leds do not shine bright enough for the blinkers and hi beam during the day in direct sun light I find, I cant tell if their on or not in sunlight! At night their fine so I likely need some front firing leds for these 3 areas, what other leds have you guys used successfully for the directionals and hi beam indicators?

(got these from superbriteleds)

Just installed mine in my rear view mirror today. I had to loosen the brackets and squeeze them a bit more together sine the bulbs were just a tad bit smaller than the stocks, besides that it looks sexy.

I used floss, threaded it over the old bulbs and pulled down. didn't want to mess up the metal bracket that holds the bulb, pliers may work also but watch out for your led's when you do it.

I figured I'd upload a couple pictures of how mine turned out with LED's...it's exactly what I wanted. These are the "Cool White WLED-xHP6" bulbs behind stock overlays.

As you can see, my Alpine head unit (CDA-9886) lights up blue and white...so I wanted the slight blueish tint...the combo of a cool white bulb being just a little more blue than white, and the stock overlays having a slightly blue hue to them also...It all matches up perfectly.

I also did LED bulbs in the rearview mirror (my 2000 has the older style mirror, and it's a late 2000...I think the newer mirror might be 2001-2002 only) and in the dome light, as well as in the door panels and headlight switch...did some soldering on the headlight switch, and I need to take the passenger side door panel apart again, I think I assembled something improperly...the light doesn't come out nearly as well on that side as it does the drivers side.

I'm also working on dissassembling a spare set of stereo controls from the steering wheel and figuring out what to do with some SMD LED soldering to make them light up the same as right now they look yellow in comparison to the rest of the interior.

Yes my car does have 190,457 miles on it...yes it does have the original clutch still too .
