i actually used paint they use for tint on model cars ill see if i can find the can i put on two coats wet sanded them down and buffed em out. i did the same on the taillights as well. if you loof at them at an angel u can see the original color through it but i think it looks pretty good like that. and with the factory lights you can see the lights no problem to include the break lights during the day

whoever said that doesnt know what they're talking about, and probably hasnt even done it. i have seen plenty of other people do it, and have done it myself and it will come out the same. the vht covers over any color the same way. the ONLY reason someone may think it doesnt look as good, is if they only wanted a very light clear/smoked look, which is something you can accomplish with clear, but not amber. if you want them fairly dark though, it doesnt matter which you use, stock will look fine.
