I figured it was called metallic because of the metal flake... I love this damn color, wayyyyy more than my sibring silver one. Honestly, next to SOM, the best color for our cars. At night, it looks black, when dusty, it looks dark purple, and when clean in the sun, its down right awesome.

Some NBM cars are a bit different from each other. By buddy Frank had an 01 NBM Formula and his was just a few shades lighter than my 00' NBM Trans Am (an no, not due to sun fade).
If I remember correctly, there are two color codes for our cars, 28U WA352E or WA353E. One has "pearl" in it and the other does not. I believe the lighter color ones would be the ones with pearl in them, but I could be wrong.

Mystic teal on camaros isn't a three stage paint, and yes metallic and pearl are differant. As far as nbm, it is my favorite color aswell, my roomates 00 ss is that color and it makes me wish my ws6 was that nbm so bad

i think its more about the condition of the paint and the wax you use. most of the lighter color NBM cars i have seen dont appear have much wax on them or have spent more time in the sun.
