Default Got Stull Grille...Not Happy...

Hey all, I got my Stull Grille in and am not impressed. I didnt tape off the back like they said, but still you can see way too much behind there! What have all of you done behind the grille to make it look better.

Also, have any of you noticed how the front of the car, especially on black, looks a lot lighter than the hood? I guess it is the different materials? or light reflecting. Any one know about this ( I might be me just being crazy?!?!?).
Thanks,
John

i like mine...but maybe that's because my Z is silver, and it goes really good with it

i got a can of dark gray metallic paint and painted up the area behind it...have to repaint it every year or so, but it looks good

i'm happy with it, all in all

not me....

black would be too much contrast, imho.....what with a silver car, and a polished stull grill, i wanted something inbetween....dark, but not black......it looks better that way

I like yours. So what do you say you did? You taped electrical tape to the grille? or the car? I would leave it. Your car looks very clean. The corners, lights, fogs, and grille compliment each other.

I taped the section of the bumper behind the grille. Mine was red, so it was WAY too noticable, a little black tape did the trick. thanks for the compliment

Since my car is black, But it is glossy under there and I think that is what makes it look not to good when the light is being reflected. What kinda paint did you all use? Just a can of flat black spray paint? Any prep work? Thanks for all the replies.

Yeah, just flat black spray paint for me. No prep except of course the taping off part. It's held up rather well.

Flat black contrasts nice with just about any color. I think you should give it a shot.

when I first got the grill, I painted the area behind flat black like they tell you to (a must!!! it looks like SH*T if you can "see" the body behind it).

As of this last summer, I actually removed the front clip from the car, grabed a saw and actually cut EVERYTHING out behind the grill (its now one big "fish mouth"). My car is now a "mouth breather" . You can stand in front of the car, look in the opening, and actually see the radiator (actually oil cooler but you get the idea ). It looks MUCH better and really makes the car run cool.

I really need a pic of my setup

You take the stock grill off. Underneath the stock grille is another design, it says CAMARO and is painted the same color as the car. Pull old off and drill 4 holes and insert grille and four screws. Took like 20 seconds.
