I do remember reading several posts about guys being extremely upset with the quality of the Mecham hood. Some said there was exposed fibers and huge seems. I remember one post about a guy that spent almost $500 to have the hood cleaned up enough to paint Screw that!

I've also heard LOTS of people being mad that the hoods quality was of the type mentioned ealier, most everyone stays away from them at this point.

On a side note, just so you understand, there was a guy getting his car done by them and he had to wait extra time to get his car back because Mechams own people couldn't get it to fit right and they had to build another.

Just be forewarned if you decide to gt one and it doesn't come to you looking decent.

This is probably why you'll have a next to impossible time trying to find pics of one......I imagine your best bet would be to mail mecham and ask them for some pics

Stick with VFN or SLP. They make some really decent hoods.

One of the tech members here in Austin (Shane) had one on his 99 pewter t/a w/ red stripes, but traded it in on an 02 SOM WS6. I recall him telling me he wasn't very happy with the quality and fitment of the mecham hood.

I'm sure he'll post a pic and chime in when he sees this thread.

Oh God Almighty, stay clear of Mecham Performance!!! I bought their C5R hood for my C5 and it was/is the biggest POS I have ever seen and/or bought. The d@mn thing is some type plastic and not even fliberglass. Ever worse, Dennis has horrible customer service. The hood started to bubble in spots and when I told him about it, he basically said that it is my problem and deal with it myself. Plus the thing was not even molded correctly and would not fit right. After about $3000 into the thing, I am going to end up have a nice $3000 coffee table
