Re: Installing neons
Neons on the interior? Ummmm... I really wish you wouldn't. However, you can get power by running a lead from the ACCY lead (position 7) if you want them always on, or from the IGN lead (position 13) of you only want them to run while the engine is on. PLEASE reconsider though. <img border="0" alt="[barf]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_barf.gif" />

You could hook it up to your headlights, you'd need a tester and turn the headlights on and check each box in the fuse box. And then you'd still need an inline fuse and the switch.. I had neons inside.. one broke 1st day.. took it out.. had the rice pedals.. got sick of them.. gave them to a girl..

Re: Installing neons
I Have neons on the inside and ran a wire from the battery through the hole where the computer harness runs in the car. Its a pain in the *** to move itthe computer around but in the end its worth it especially if you ever want to run amps for a sound system. Do your self a favor don't shortcut with the fuse box run 8gauge and be done with it.

Re: Installing neons
Neons are not bad if not overdone......they make a car a little more "show" like <img border="0" alt="[pimp]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_pimp.gif" /> .....its when EVERYTHING is neon.....around the subs, under the car, under the hood, under the seats, around the dash, etc....now thats <img border="0" alt="[barf]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_barf.gif" />
don't trash on a little neon though <img border="0" alt="[shoot]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_guns.gif" />

Re: Installing neons
Amen. When tastefully done, a couple of neon tubes can look great. I stick to the single tube (10" or 15") under the front of each front seat. I mounted it to the front of the bracket on the driver's seat and stuck it under the seat adjustment lever on the passenger's seat. Wiring can easily come from the console shifter illumination light (for an auto) of a host of other lights that reside in the cockpit that are on only when the lights are on-you just have to look for them, and you'll notice them. I have done this in all three of the F-bodies that I have onwned, and many of my friends' cars. I get complements all the time on them, from everyone-not just rice boys. Use care in picking a color, though. Try to match the exterior color, or the interior lighting. I put red in my Black 01 TA, and had blue in my blue '94 Camaro. Both looked awesome. Don't let anyone tell to its ricey! A rice mod is only a rice mod because its over the top and ridiculous looking! Besides, our cars have enough ***** that they could pull off almost any look, even something considered "ricey"

Re: Installing neons
Gees, the guy wasn't looking for opinions. He was looking for some advice on what he was doing. Further, there was no mention of neon under the car as a couple other assumed. The post directly mentions interior neon.

of coarse with everything that follows the stupid little sayin (form without function) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> of some NON-open minded people your going to catch ****. but wait a min. dont neons give a cool looking glow if done RIGHT & TASTEFULLY.thats a function in my book weather its simple or not. ANYWAY,you might want to cheak out www.jamstrait.com instead of neons you might want to try l.e.d.s they make them in strips of all diffrent lenths and colors. there just as bright can fit in places that a neon would never go and are way more durable.this is the modern high tech neon. i believe they are cheaper in comparson with neon too. P.S. they also sell replacement tail/marker bulbs to. fitment for camaro is 3057 a.k.a 3157 tail/turn 194-marker lights f.y.i. you will need relay for signal useage. i have them for thourgh out my car and highly recommend them. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

Re: Installing neons
I'm glad you got some responces that help your situation....NOT! Before buying the neon double check your desired locations and measure correctly leaving room for the wire harness that comes out the tubes...otherwise it wont fit and that would suck. Make sure you mount them securely with either good solid screws or nuts and bolts if possible, you dont want that stuff fallin off when your driving hard. Last...the wiring. If you are putting some in the trunk, I would splice off a stereo power wire, either the stock amp or what you have installed and then try to ground it to the same location as the stereo equipment. In the front...I would a constant wire, not something that comes on with the ignition...this way you can have them on when ever you flip the switch. There is one going to the stereo that would work fine, you could pull one off your battery, or off the fuse block. Make sure you ground that thing correctly also. As for the switch...I like mine in the ash try also...I pulled it out and mounted them at the base to the right next to the light so I can still throw stuff in there if I wanted. But if you want to make a plate the best way I can see is to go to tap plastics and get a small piece or your choice of plexi or ABS plastic and trim it down to slide into the ashtray for a tight fit...then maybe throw a small bead of silicone on the base of the plate to get it to stick alittle better. If you have any more questions just float me an email.
P.S. I would look into LED's first...they are way cooler, draw less power and are just as bright.
