Default Removing Lettering from my air lid?

Has anybody tried removing the lettering from an air lid using some type of solvent? I have a LS1 Motorsports lid that says "LS1 Motorsports" in red font on it. Just wanted to know if anybody has tried removing the lettering and if it eats away at the rest of the finish on the lid? Its like 10 degrees here so I havent had a chance to try using any solvents. And I dont wanna stink up my house if im just wasting my time.

Isn't it just a decal? I dont have the LS1 motorsports lid but I have a whisper lid and the "LS1" on it is just a decal that can be pealed off.

Use a hair dryer to heat up the decal and it will peel off, if some glue residue is left behind use some WD-40 and a rag...you'll never know it had a decal on it!

I've got the LS1 Motorsports lid, that sticker should be easy as hell to get off. The surface of the lid has a grain to it, so the sticker doesn't really stay on that great. Mine is pealing off at the corners, but I actually like the sticker, so it kinda sucks. I would imagine with some heat from a hair dryer it should come right off.

I took mine off right away. It gives a nice sleeper look, and mine peeled off right away- no mess left.

Acetone should work to get the adhesive off. I used it to get a window decal off.

Yea I just peeled it right off. Used a mild solvent to clean up the lid. Looks nice and clean now.
